Arcana Squires (Prologue)

Amelia and her friends were once known as the Arcana Squires: a group of powerful Magical Girls sworn to protect the world from a great evil from beyond the stars.

But that was years ago. Nowadays the five girls are caught up in their respective studies and jobs. With their adventures behind them, they let life more or less pull them apart.

So when an obsessive enemy comes back with a vengeance, they are forcefully pulled out of retirement to save the city… and themselves. Unfortunately, their powers are greatly hindered by their now tenuous bonds and personal struggles. It’s back to square one.

What's in the game?

Arcana Squires is a tactical RPG made with SRPG Studio. Lead the Magical Girls through the battlefield by playing on their respective strengths, in a similar fashion to a Fire Emblem game.

This prologue features:

• Two maps: a minigame and a proper tactical battle.
• 4000 words worth of cutscenes and banter.
• A yandere Dark Magical Girl as the main villain.
• Fully rendered character portraits.
• Customizable controls.

In terms of CW/TW, this version remains very tame. Blood is mentionned. A nonconsensual move from the villainess on one of the heroines is implied. Nothing is ever shown.

Default controls

Move cursor: Arrow keys
Skip: Space
Select: Z / Enter
Cancel: X
Switch to previous/next unit: A / S
Check unit tab: C
Toggle fullscreen: F4

Press Enter while the cursor is on an empty tile to open the game menu. You can save from there during your turn.

During cutscenes, press Select to progress. Press Cancel to speed up. Press Space to skip a cutscene entirely.

Close the game using Alt+F4, or by exiting fullscreen mode and closing the window.
