Small fix and future plans
VItheSixth here! To anyone who will read this, thank you for giving this silly idea of mine a shot. Me and Skylily Wolf had a good time working on Arcana Squires, and we hope you'll enjoy playing our tiny demo!
After receiving feedback regarding the puzzle map, I decided to add a short, mandatory tutorial to teach the player how to open the unit tab. It's a mandatory piece of knowledge to have in order to clear the map. Not including it was a bad call on my part. It's fixed now!
I'd like to make Arcana Squires into a full short game by the end of the year. The premise would be as advertised in the game's page: after the flashback prologue where we meet the heroines in their prime, the game would see them lose their powers and equipment, forcing the player to guide them through Kitsune's latest ordeal starting back to Level 1. The game would feature the following elements:
- A complete, albeit linear story
- At least 10 playable maps in total, maybe more
- Choices during cutscenes and gameplay that influence maps (deployment zones, objectives...), character scenes and rewards
- Support conversations between all characters, unlocked through choices and objectives rather than point farming
- The possibility to equip most weapons and skills to any character
We have no roadmap to share yet, and it's hard to make regular content updates on a game such as this one. We would rather have you enjoy the full experience when it's ready.
In the meantime, I'll share devlogs on this very page. Stay tuned to see the new maps, sprites and mechanics as they come into being! Ask us questions, make suggestions, and we'll answer as best we can!
Thanks again for your time, and see you around!
